The question of whether robots bring advantages has been a matter of an ongoing debate. Whereas some claim that its role is indispensable in humanity’s future, others point out some risks of incorporation of robots. While both views are worth consideration, minimizing all possible drawbacks and leveraging machines for the humanity development is the best approach.
Proponents of opposite view highlight potential threats of implementation of machines in society. One of the potential risks is job displacement. As robots can outperform individuals and their effort costs lower in relation to manual effort, they are being incorporated in many businesses. In this way, instead of employing individuals, robots are being hired in many companies. These actions, without any considerations, can result in joblessness. A Norway is a prominent example. In pursuit of a better alternative for manual labor, machines has been incorporated widely, there. Since a wide implementation, the level of employment has been declining.
Supporters, however, emphasize some undeniable benefits. One primary advantage in shaping humanity’s future is, without doubt, universality of these machineries. They can operate in extreme conditions, even if it is limited for humans. Unlike humans, robots can be refined for particular contexts. Efficiency of robots in particular circumstance can be better than human’s, moreover. A case in point is “Nasa”, where robots are effectively deployed for explorations of space. So much information has been discovered solely by usage of robots. If we had not employed them in such way, the knowledge about universe would not be as rich as it is now.
In my view, a curtailed use of robotic devices is of utmost importance for shaping the future. To avoid possible problems, particular policies should be introduced. A limitation of them is one of possible methods. With this approach, not only is the possibility of problems reduced, but this also results in a better efficiency in new discoveries. Take China, for example. In this country, taxation on usage of robots was introduced. Consequently, collapses and problems were not observed, as well as new opportunities in this country were opened.
In conclusion, machines can be both indispensable and harmful in shaping the humanity’s future. They can contribute to job displacement, while their role in new discoveries is critical. Although there are some potential menace, they can be minimized through government intervention. Therefore, I believe that with through analysis of issues and mitigating them, robots can be used for better future.
