Band 7+: Some believe that students should begin learning a language very early in school while others think these subjects should be taught later.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

There is an ongoing debate over whether students should start studying a foreign language in school. While some people believe that learning a foreign language at an early age is beneficial, others argue that it should be introduced later in school.

On one hand, some people contend that students ought to become familiar with learning a foreign language at an early age, so that they can build a better future in the long run. They argue that children who spend a significant amount of time on studies during childhood may aid themselves, such as having better pronunciation, becoming fluent more naturally, or communicating confidently rather than others. For instance, many successful polyglots started their own way by learning languages from an early age, with a strong interest in foreign languages and prioritizing their favorite activities. From this perspective, introducing foreign languages at an early stage is highly beneficial for children’s future development and skills.

On the other hand, others believe that I students should begin to gain knowledge of learning a language later. Many adults think that, first things first, all students should build a powerful foundation in crucial subjects such as mathematics, science, and history before taking on additional academic responsibilities. For example, mastering basic reading and writing skills first can make future learning more effective and useful. Even though some children who are taught later may find it easier to learn a foreign language because they can focus on it without being overwhelmed.

In conclusion, while some argue about whether students should begin learning a language very early or be taught later, in my opinion, learning a foreign language from an early age is more beneficial because education is a privilege now, so it should be used wisely. Furthermore, leaming new languages offers numerous benefits, opens many doors for people, and creates valuable opportunities for students in their future education and careers.
