Some individuals feel that in early years of school student should be taught new languages, while others argue these types of courses should be learnt in their higher studies. In my opinion, I think the better option is to teach them at a younger age, as they will have much time to practice and improve their fluency.
The first group argue that, during early classes of schools, kids must be instructed to learn new language skills. This type of practice will help them to have a better language proficiency and this will ultimately improve their thinking capability. However, at a young age the mind grows rapidly, that means it will be easy to mold them in any way. More of it, their fluency, pronunciation and grammar will significantly improve while they are growing. As an embodiment, in my country Pakistan, the government has made compulsory for every school to teach, the English language course, as it is becoming an important market demand.
Conversely, others believe only students who are doing higher studies should be taught new language. For younger students it will be an excessive burden, as they are in a stage of building foundational knowledge. Furthermore, the students of college can choose language course according to their own requirement. For instance, my friend, who resides in Finland, told me that a recent survey on students choices on opting for any speaking subject shows, 75% of participants are unhappy with early language instruction.
In conclusion, during early schooling, it would be beneficial for children to learn a new language that will assist them in their future, while some people argue that it will be a better option to make them learn later. I think, it will substantially improve their cognitive skills, as they can take advantage by learning with other traditional subjects.
