Some cities construct housing areas by increasing the number of taller buildings, while others use the approach of building on a wider area of territory. From my point of view, both solutions are valid enough since the first one is economically beneficial and space saving, however the second one is taking into account safety of people.
On one hand, providing taller buildings is more convenient option due to the fact that it saves a lot of space unlike the other solution. By stacking apartments on each other the goverment clears large territories for other facilities. It gives residents of those houses even in small towns an access to the diverse range of places like hospitals, kindergartens, shopping malls etc. which will boost local economy of that region noticably.
On the other hand, creating housing by building houses on a wider area of land might enchances individuals’ well-being in case of desasters. Depending on region’s climat fetures, geographical intricasies and weather this solution has a chance to avoid catastrophies connected with natural desasters which often leads to the falling of building or at the worst scenarios to the human sacrifices. For instance, in Japan, where earthquakes and hurricanes happen pretty often for the reason of the country’s location, its common to create housing in favor of wider areas.
In conclusion, while two options are equally important and have its own pros, the way housing can be created is heavily depends on various factors as geographic location, climat changes or effectiveness in terms of space saving.
