In this 21st century, governments worldwide has started implementing new legal regulations, limiting the working hours for employees. Though, this seems to be a frustrating decision to many, the advantages to this new law are numerous. This essay discusses the positive and negative impact of this beneficial development brought in by the countries.

Firstly, people work harder to make money, compromising their physical and mental health. This attitude is taken for granted by the companies, as there won’t be a necessity in hiring additional employees. Subsequently, allowing their own staff to work overtime that would result in reduced labour cost and increased profit. However, this practice is inadvisable, as the health of the workers is deteriorating. For instance, a company from India faced allegations recently due to overtime employment, leading to mental breakdown of many of their employees.

Therefore, bringing new regulations in limiting working hours of an individual has become crucial. Moreover, this law would enhance provide more job opportunities as the industries would be forced to hire more hands to carry on the works. To add on, this policy would also bring out proper work life balance among the community. Furthermore, people would find more time to be with their friends and family. Recently, mandatory weekend with family was implemented in a company in Japan, which has shown positive results as the workers would come up with fresh ideas later, that would support the growth of their firm.

To conclude, restricting working hours is an effective method to bring the complete potential of an individual, allowing him/her to tackle demographic problems globally.
