It is believed that parents of children who violate the law should be responsible for their behaviour. Although I agree that parents should be punished in some way, I do not agree this is responsible for their actions.
There are many reasons that parents of children should be punished because of their children’s fault. Firstly, parents are the ones who raise and educate their children, so children’s behaviours is based on the upbringing of parents. If they break the law, it can be seen as a lack of teaching from their parents, causing them to do violations. Secondly, parents must have the obligation to supervise their children’s actions to avoid violations. This is because young children are too young to make the right decisions for themselves without parental guidance. Therefore, they need to be supervised by their parents to ensure that they understand the consequences of their actions.
However, not all children breaking the rules is the parents’ fault. This arises from when children grow up, they form their thoughts and act without permission of their parents, which leads to parents unable to control their children’s behaviours. As a result, no matter what parents control and teach, they intend to do with their own decisions. Moreover, children can be influenced by many factors, such as school and friends, which contribute to children’s misbehaviours. These influences gradually outweigh parents’ control, leading to children ignoring their parent’s guidance. Therefore, it is not always fair to blame their parents because of their children’s fault.
In conclusion, parents of children who violate the rules should be punished because children are raised and educated by parents, and it is also a parent’s duty to avoid their children from violations. However, I do not agree with violating parents because children, when they grow up, have their own thoughts and their own decisions, and they may be influenced by many factors that impact their children’s behaviour.
