There is a debate about hosting sport events. While some people think it has a positive impact on country, others argue it might has several drawbacks. Both ideas are valid, but lean forward to the former ideas and this essay will discuss both views and give my personal perspective.
On the one hand, hosting an international and global sport competitions bring some benefits to the host country. Firstly, the economy of the country improves, as many people around the world invest money on countries’ budget. For example, tourists pay for everything, ranging from hotels to tickets they buy for events. In addition, the government start developing the infrastructure, be it transport systems or or other public facilities. These investment don not only help to impress tourists, but also provide advantages for locals. For example, this year we held FIA AWARDS in our country, where some roads were reconstructed and reopened for special event.
On the other hand, there can be seen negative aspects. One important factor is damage on government’s finances. When a country wants to spend an international event, the state has to expend lots of money on it. As a result, the prices for products and items as well as taxes start to increase. Moreover, the environment starts destroying, when the land is overpopulated. A large number of people can cause a serious impact on nature and the air quality is deteriorating.
In conclusion, although, hosting a huge international sport events can bring significant benefits, I believe it might not be positive at all, as it is harmful for ecosystem because of the loss of habitats and higher carbon emissions.
