It is commonly believed that an individual’s success in life is determined by their natural abilities. This essay disagrees with this claim and maintains that hard work is a far more decisive factor in shaping intelligence, as consistent effort can enhance results, whereas unutilized talent eventually diminishes.
It is crucial to understand that effort can always change outcomes. If someone puts a great deal of time and effort into learning a new skill, they can master it after time. This is why those who devote more time to better themselves can easily surpass those who allegadly have inborn abilites. Nobody, for instance, is born knowing how to drive, and driving lessons are the only way to master it.
By contrast, when skills are not practices, they can detoriorate. When a person does not practice enough, they lose their skills, and it would be difficult to retrieve them again. A very good example here is how a person’s second language can weaken if not constantly used.
In conclusion, though many assume that our innateness can help us do well in life, hard work is more influencial than it. It is, therefore, adivisable that one should work on honing their skills rather than being lazy.
