Some say, there is a strong effect on individuals’ decision-making process. While others say that there is little or no real impact. In this essay, I will discuss both views and explain why I think that there is a strong effect on individuals’ decision-making process.
Advertising has a strong effect on individuals’ decision-making processes. People are surrounded by numerous advertisements every day as soon as they open their eyes, and this constant exposure has a significant impact on their brains, strongly influencing how they make decisions. This is often referred to as brainwashing. For example, through repeated exposure to the same messages, peoples’ brains deeply absorb these messages, which are then retained in their memory for a long time. This demonstrates that brainwashing effectively influences people, as it is difficult to ignore and even more effective on younger and indecisive individuals who have not fully developed maturity, lack social norms, and do not have a clear image of what they want. Clearly, advertising has a strong effect on individuals’ decision-making processes.
On the other hand, others say that there are only a few or no real impacts on their decision-making. Even if they are surrounded by advertisements repeatedly for what they want to offer to their targets, these people pay less attention to what they see as advertisements and take advertisements just like the dairy noise and ignore them. For example, people in this group are often mature and have already built strong self-protections to shut unnecessary information down to follow their strong social norms and say that people should just ignore what they see or hear as advertisements because societies are unchangeable instantly to have fewer advertisements surround them. Thus, there is little or no impact on them to make any kind of decisions.
In conclusion, by discussing both sides of view, I believe that advertisements have a strong effect on individuals’ decision-making process.
