Some people believe that children should learn all subjects in school, while others think that they should only learn the subjects they are good at or find interesting. This essay will discuss both views and give my opinion.
On the one hand, those who advocate children learning all subjects argue that this approach has more benefits than focusing only on the subjects they are excel. Firstly, it is undeniable that providing a well-rounded education in many subjects is important to develop a broad range of skills and promote a deeper understanding of learning. For example, a student who wants to take an entrance exam for a desired major but only studies subjects that they are good at may not have enough knowledge in other areas, which may lead to low attendance and prevent them from passing the exam. Secondly, exposing children to a broad their perspective in many subjects can broaden their view of the social and appreciate the value of different disciplines. Studying all subjects is essential for children to be able to progress to higher levels of education in the future. It is important that studying many subjects that children are not interested in can lead to boredom, stress and reduced learning ability or even overwhelm them.
On the other hand, there are good reasons why I believe that students should focus on subjects that they find interesting. There is a reasonable argument for allowing students to focus on subjects that they are interested in or have an aptitude for. Tailoring teaching methods to individual interests can foster a deeper passion for understanding and lead to progress higher levels of education in children. For example, a musically gifted boy who is trained extensively in his area of interest may become a talented musician. Children will benefit more if they focus primarily on subjects they are good at or have an interest in.
This approach not only fosters a sense of enthusiasm for learning, but also allows students to develop their unique talents and strengths more effectively.
In conclusion, children should pursue subjects they are good at or have a genuine passion for. This approach to education is very essential to a child’s career and academic path and contribute to the overall development of a child’s academic personality.
