There seems to be a debatable issue on whether the government should obtain its citizens’ phone usage, such as call records or messages, for protection, while some have the opposite opinion that private media should not be disclosed and should not be available without permission. From my perspective, I am on the side that phones cannot be accessed without permission. Now, I will make the issue clear in order to arrive at the final conclusion.
First and foremost, different parts of society insist that no one should have access to their digital devices, like phones and computers, because nowadays most people keep their private information on their cellphones for easy access. People should be responsible for their own belongings, not strangers. There are many bad people we do not know, even in politics, and we do not know these strangers as we know our friends; they could do anything without our permission. Giving away your personal information to people you do not know could be dangerous.
When it comes to voicing my opinion on this issue, there could be several threatening situations in life by giving our personal calls with friends or relatives. We share our lives with loved ones through calls or messages, those who cannot listen or know in real life, so we share them using our mobile phones. We cannot imagine our lives without talking about our private lives, like marriage or pregnancy; if someone were listening to our lives without permission, we would not feel protected. But in some situations, such as calling a scammer or a threatener, they can listen because we would give our permission. It is the most reasonable paradigm.
To wrap things up, the government could have access to our phones, but only with permission, to protect our privacy.
