Therefore, in my opinion, authorities should have warranted access to people’s records and messages for such reasons.

In turn, information such as home addresses, phone numbers, or even credit card details may be exposed to online hackers. On the other hand, phone call records and messages serve as strong evidence for criminal investigation purposes. Criminals in general often use mobile phones to communicate and liaise their plans. In other cases, they may harass their victims by blackmail or threats on the phone. For instance, drug traffickers, illegal loan sharks, cyberbullies and scammers tend to communicate with their targeted victims on messaging platforms. Therefore, having immediate access to communication records of individuals provides immense aid in helping authoritative figures solve serious cyber-related crimes.

Despite the chance that there will be crimes that may arise from an unintentional breach of data, having permission to enter people’s history of communication ensures community safety and overall outweighs all disadvantages.
