Several people argue that environmental problems will make our planet unlivable and that humanity will have to find another planet capable of supporting life in the future. I disagree with this opinion because the Earth is always the optimal place for humanity to survive, and more importantly, it is more difficult to transport a huge population of humanity than it is to help sustain our environment now.
Firstly, while it is true that we may eventually be able to locate a new planet and transport ourselves to that planet, the new planet will not be as suitable as the Earth is for us. Humanity was created on Earth under optimal circumstances, and it will be unwise to assume that said new planet will be a place with the same circumstances. For example, for humanity to appear, the Earth must exhibit oxygen, carbon dioxide, and most importantly, water. However, it is unlikely for the new planet to exhibit such conditions, even if it provides humanity with a potential survival point.
In addition to this, it is far more cost-efficient to save our planet than to transport a large population en masse to a new home. If humanity can create the means to space travel, it is safe to argue that they also have the means to sustain our environment or create technologies that do not require our depleting natural resources. In fact, it will be more efficient for us to maintain our mother planet than it is to transport ourselves to a faraway land economically.
In conclusion, while people may eventually be able to travel to another planet, it will be much easier and logical to maintain our mother planet than it is to find and move to another planet.
