Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Living in cities might be a great pleasure for some people whereas some people find it very difficult to survive there. Based on the people’s belief, living in big cities can be both difficult and easy according to the different circumstances. This essay discusses about the merits and demerits of living in a city.

Living in cities is one of the most common thing for people to do because of the availability of the facilities provided. Many people tend to migrate from the rural areas to city because of the advancement it has. Around 80% of the population now has the access of schools, private hospitals, transportation, source of communication, hospitals and many more that pulls them to spend their lives in the city areas. The city has much more to offer than compared to the village. Therefore, more than half of the population truly sacrifice their life to stay in their dreamed cities rather than their own home town because city has lot more to offer.

On the other hand, inflation is one of the major cause we can see that is making a person uneasy to survive in the cities. City may provide all the fascinating sources and a developed place for schools and hospitals but the number of people living has increased so rapidly in such areas that there is a very high inflation rate which is making people difficult to even purchase goods and carry their daily lives with ease. Unlike cities, village have their own farms for food and also their own shelter whereas the rents in the city area has gone beyond expensive. The increased number of men and women in the cities has also lead to lack of job opportunities due to the high competition in the market areas. This is all what makes the people think its a tedious job to stay in city and is not beneficial for one.

To conclude, I believe that it depends on person to person on how they want to spend their lives. One who has a high income and a sustainable lifestyle may think that its a cup of tea to stay in city while the person with a minimum wage rate may think the opposite. Hence, surviving in city can be both a advantage and a diadvantage for one.
