It is often thought that authorities should spend more money on infrastructure like healthcare development and education sector instead of using it to support arts. I agree with this opinion. Not only because developing these sections is more important to enhance the quality of life, but it is also essential to allow more cash flow for the nation’s economy.
The importance of developing core pillars of community like medical support is substantial and priority should be given to working on this aspect. After COVID-19 crisis, it is now clear how strong healthcare systems can resist global pandemic, or at least have quick recovery. This point of strength helped in stabilizing the economy of some countries like Germany and prevented its collapse during the pandemic. Moreover, another important sector that will benefit from more financial aid is education, which is fundamental to help establishing a well developed country. Without proper investment in education, efficient qualified individuals will be lacking and the community’s development will be hindered. These consequences will have drastic effect on the economic status of the country.
Meanwhile, Supporting art is beneficial for expressing the nation’s culture and it should be encouraged. Art can be a potential source of income if it is used properly to attract tourists to the enjoy it. For example, Brazil is now famous for its samba dances and contributes to the national income by attracting foreigners to indulge in their culture. Nevertheless, art support cannot be given a higher hierarchy when it is compared to more important sections as those providing public support like transportation and healthcare development.
In conclusion, while supporting art sector is advantageous to express the culture, I strongly believe that directing the financial support to develop public services is more important to promote the national production and raise the standards of individual’s quality of life.
