Some people believe that art plays a crucial role in our lives; therefore, they think that more government money should be spent on arts, while others believe that the money must be spent on public necessities, such as a good level of service at educational institutions and hospitals. In this essay, I will discuss both views and give my personal standpoint.
Art has always been an essential part of human life. It is strongly linked to the history and the current lives of people as well. As a result, some people truly believe that the government should spend more money on the arts. They argue that art helps to save national identity and cultural heritage in this fast-paced life. If the government does not fund it, museums, theaters, and art galleries cannot operate, which will have its own consequences, such as a decline in cultural diversity and the loss of national identity.
On the other hand, some people argue that government money must be spent on improving public services in the country. They strongly believe that the government should firstly fund basic public necessities, such as a high level of education and a well-developed medical sector, which play a vital role in people’s lives. For instance, a country without a strong educational background and a developed healthcare system will not have enough people to support the idea of paying much attention to the development of art.
From my personal viewpoint, the government should spend more money for making the level of education and healthcare higher. I truly believe that the development of the arts is strongly linked to the percentage of educated people in a country. For example, the countries that pay great attention to the arts often have a high number of literate people who support it.
In conclusion, even though the arts have been playing a huge role in human lives, we should not forget about the fundamental aspects of society – education and healthcare.
