Some people believe that young individuals should choose their occupation based solely on the salary they are likely to earn. However, others argue that passion and personal interest should be the main factors when selecting a career. This essay will discuss both viewpoints and present my opinion.
In today’s highly competitive world, getting a secure job is extremely challenging. Many young people think that only professions with high pay, stability, and recognition are worth pursuing. With the rapid growth of modern technology, especially artificial intelligence, many traditional jobs are disappearing. As a result, youngsters often check the expected income first and then decide their future occupation based on financial security. For example, careers in data science or AI engineering are currently in high demand and offer attractive salaries. Therefore, many students prefer these fields, not only for their interest but mainly because they believe these jobs will provide long-term stability and better earnings.
On the other hand, some people still believe that passion should guide career choices. They argue that working in a job that does not match one’s interests leads to dissatisfaction, no matter how high the salary is. In the era of the internet and social media, people can turn their talents into successful careers. Artists such as painters, singers, and dancers are now able to earn a good income while following their passion. With the help of technology, they can showcase their talent to the world and build a career they truly enjoy.
In my opinion, both salary and passion are important, but passion should come first. If individuals choose a career they love, they are more likely to work hard, improve their skills, and eventually achieve both personal satisfaction and financial success.
