These days, children are spending more time on internet and they usually enter information by typing with the help of keyboards or by touching letters on the mobile screen. This is true of other devices too. Whey they become adult, they will spend most of their time by typing information rather than writing by hand.
In school, students have to give exams with writing by hand rather than typing. They have to copied their notes from the board, give their test and exams with the help of writing by hand. Moreover, it is essential for children to learn the handwriting. It will help them to make a connection between brain and hand. As they become adult, they have to do all the work with the help of computer but they have to make a copy of them by writing data on files. Because, sometimes computer files got damaged by virus and hacking. Writing by hand also help them to make a list of what to do in a day so they must be able to do the tasks on time.
On the other hands, supporters of technology and modern means of recording and solving information say that handwriting is the old way of storing any information and data. Computer keyboards can do this task more efficiently and effortlessly as compared to writing by hands. Children should learn that how to type with a keyboard because this will help them more in the future. Printed essays with the help of electronic means are more efficient and easier to read. Some children have disabilities like bad handwriting and writing mistakes, therefore typing information with the help of modern means are much easier and convenient for them.
In my opinion, handwriting is a valuable skill and should be taught to children through their lives. Because its a skill that is used throughout in our lives and it’s also help in developing a connection between brain and hand.
