Many individuals believe that in today’s modern generation, we can watch movies on our devices, such as phones, tablets, and laptops, rather than going to the cinema. Some argue that movies must be experienced in a cinema to be truly entertaining. In this essay, I would like to share my own views and opinions on this phenomenon.
First of all, watching movies on our gadgets offers a new level of comfort in this generation. Streaming films on our phones is incredibly convenient. Additionally, this approach can help save money compared to purchasing tickets at a cinema. For instance, movie streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, and iWant are applications that can be easily downloaded to your phone, making them accessible and user-friendly.
On the other hand, enjoying films in a cinema provides a different kind of experience. Being in a theater with family and friends can be a lot of fun. For example, here in the Philippines, we celebrate the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) every year. During this event, only Filipino films are shown in cinemas, and we, as Filipinos, actively support our local movies.
Based on my experience, I frequently watch movies on my gadgets, like my favorite series, ‘Squid Game,’ on Netflix. Sometimes, great films are not available in theaters, leaving people like us with no choice but to watch them online.
In conclusion, the choice of where to watch a movie ultimately depends on individual preference. Many people have the option to choose between the cinema and their devices, based on what suits them best.
