Band 4+: Some people say that the main aim of advertising is to improve the sales of products that people do not really need.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Advertising can be used as a source to spread information and attract people towards particular product. As per survey of people, few of them thinks it is because of advertising they end up buying products which are not really needed. This essay will argue that advertising is necessary and along with that it has some ill effects to it, so i partially agree that the main aim of advetising is to improve sales of product which is not really needed.

Advertisment are not really meant for products which are necessary to people as they would buy that even if it is not advertised, so it shows only the product which are of least importance in person’s life need advertisement to attract them and conveince them to buy.Irrelevant spending among people has increased because of mind changing advertisement and more people instead of spending their income on necessary products end up buying those product with attractive advertisement which leads to dissatisfaction amongst them. For instance, people with middle income group see car advertisement and gets fascinated with the luxury it provides and attractive EMI schemes so that everyone can buy that, but in these attraction they forget their regular and necessary expense which they have to do at any cost.Hence it is rightly said advertisement is used as a means to attract people buy the products which they wouldn’t have it if there was no advertsement.

Despite some negative views about advertisement, the idea that it is only for unnecessary product is irrelevant.

Advertising plays a crucial role in modern consumerism, influencing people’s purchasing decisions.
