Graduates from high schools do not usually acquire comprehensive knowledge about different jobs. I believe that allocating short courses of work-based learning in their schools can considerably raise their awareness about conditions of various careers.
Firstly, the benefits of appreciation of the environment of work are remarkable for pupils. The more they become cognizant about prospects of a job, the more they will be able to pursue appropriate work compatible with their ambitions, abilities, and talents, leading to more achievements and life satisfaction for them. In this regard, schools can provide pragmatic strategies to foster their practical information about each job by offering short time working programs.
Furthermore, students engaged in short courses of work-based learning can recognize the pros and cons of different occupations, including their difficulties, benefits and incomes. This approach, therefore, enables them to deeply understand the environment of each job, and to consider all positive and negative aspects to decide about their future. Children can finally choose their best preference among careers by precise and sensible comprehension.
