There are many methods to get an education for adults. While some say self-study is more flexible, I prefer traditional education for several reasons.
One of these reasons is professional guidance. Students usually face problems while they are doing their tasks and homework and they need help. In traditional education, you have an opportunity to get help from professionals. This enables to facilitation of complex topics for students. Teachers and instructors in traditional settings are trained to provide accurate and thorough knowledge. For instance, self-study students need to search on the internet and might reference incorrect or misleading sites. Without the expertise of a professional, it can be challenging to discern credible sources from unreliable ones. This is only one of the reasons why I prefer traditional education.
Apart from professional guidance, I believe discipline also plays a major role in traditional education. Discipline is necessary not only in academic careers but also in our lives. Assignments and their deadlines teach students to be responsible and manage their time effectively. With the help of deadlines, students are less likely to procrastinate their homework. Self-study students, on the other hand, are more likely to procrastinate since they don’t have a specific schedule. For example, traditional education provides a structured environment where students must follow a timetable, attend classes regularly, and meet set deadlines, all of them offers disciplined approach to learning.
