There is an ongoing debate regarding children and school subjects. Some believe that the subject about food and cooking should be taught in school; however, others argue that there are other more essential subjects to learn. This essay will examine both sides. In my opinion, while other classes, like mathematic, science, and art are important in future career, class about cooking and preparing food, which provide benefits to daily life, should not be neglected.
One primary reason of learning logical subject, such as mathematic and science is that it helps student s develop problem-solving and critical thinking skill, also encouraging curiosity. While, subject like art can serve as a tool to let them explore their imagination through design. Moreover, all of these subjects act as guidance to prepare them for a professional field in the future.
On the other hand, the purpose of cooking class aims to educate students about necessary skill. For example, Children, that parents are enforced to work on the weekend, are able to make and prepare food for themselves, even for their younger brother or sister. Additionally, apart from cooking, the class teaches a general knowledge about the ingredients, including how to pick a fresh vegetable or fruit, which the kid can use this useful skill in the future. For example, a child with knowledge about this is more likely to help parents select agricultural products when they go to the local market together, also fostering family quality-time. Furthermore, integrating cooking skill into the curriculum allow students to take a break from serious classes, positively leading ti an increase in motivation and concentration. Institutions with food class often report higher happiness among students, contributing to their overall mental well-being and resulting in a better focus in study too.
In conclusion, neither cooking subject nor other important subjects should be prioritized over the other. Because, they provide different aspects of merits that are crucial to students, encompassing logical thinking or survival skill in a daily basis. In the near future I truly hope that school will try to strike a balance in order to provide the students the utmost benefits.
