In this day and age, many individuals prefer to live in urban cities, while others believe that it is better to live in the countryside. In my opinion, I believe that living in urban sectors is more beneficial than living in the countryside. The following essay will discuss both views based on three factors: Air quality, nature scenery and job opportunities to clarify this point of view.
To commence with, though settling in the countryside provides people with clean air and beautiful natural landscapes, it doesn’t offer many job opportunities. In terms of air quality, countryside areas typically have lower pollution levels than urban areas due to having less harmful air emitted by cars, buses and factories. When it comes to nature scenery, countryside living often provides access to stunning natural landscapes, including forests, mountains, lakes and open fields, which can be aesthetically pleasing and provide opportunities for outdoor activities. Hence, people may have better mental health as well as improving their overall health and higher quality of life by living in them by immersing themselves in fresh air and these beautiful landscapes. However, in terms of job opportunities, rural areas have fewer employment options compared to urban areas. Thus, finding jobs in the countryside can be challenging for people, especially in specialized or high-paying fields.
In contrast, even though living in cities doesn’t offer people pure air and a close connection to nature like rural areas, it brings people a lot of career opportunities and other ways to gain access to nature. When it comes to air quality, there are many simple remedies that individuals, communities and policymakers can implement to reduce air pollution in the cities. For instance, by encouraging bicycle-friendly infrastructure and people’s use of public transportation, cities can reduce toxic fumes released into the air, which makes air cleaner. When it comes to nature scenery, people can go to parks or plant trees to create green spaces of their own. For example, many people in the world have soil and plants on their roofs, which mitigates the effects of global warming and brings people with a lot of relaxation and enjoyment. On top of that, it’s easier for city dwellers to find employment in the cities due to a vast number of businesses and types of jobs available. Also there are many available amenities such as restaurants, shops, and grocery stores, which is very convenient for residents.
To conclude, despite the unpolluted air and the vast nature in rural areas, living in urban areas offer people much more career opportunities. Also, there are many others which people can implement to access green nature in cities. Thus, I personally think that living in downtowns is better.
