Our world has been changing for centuries. A lot of ordinary things undergo changes every day. Despite the fact that a huge number of things are replaced by more technologized ones, some of them still exist. Today, one of the most discussed topics is paper and e-books. Will paper books disappear? Or will they never die? There are two opposing opinions, some prefer to abandon paper books in favor of online reading. In this essay I am going to explain both sides and express my opinion.
On the one hand, people believe that printed books will be replaced soon. They consider them a more comfortable option because of different features. Firstly, there is no need for a special place to store different books, because they can all be read from a mobile phone. Secondly, paper books are usually too large, so it is inconvenient to have them in a small bag. Thirdly, printed books almost always are much more expensive than their online counterparts.
On the other hand, paper books are thought to be immortal. Moreover, a great deal of people prefer not to read e-books on principle. Beautifully designed printed books can be not only a wonderful gift but also a memory of a special day, for example. A lot of people really enjoy the smell of new or old books, they just need to hold a book in their hands.
In conclusion, I would like to express my opinion. Well, I am one of those people who hate e-books. As it can be expected, it does not mean that I can not understand why others find online reading more comfortable but I need to have a book in my hands, to be able to touch them. It is vital for me to collect books on my shelves. To sum it up, I love printed books, reading them is a kind of ritual for me.
