Some people hold the view that e-books will replace paper books, while others believe that paper books will never become extinct. Personally, I strongly believe that paper books will not vanish as they are more enjoyable than e-books and do not harm the eyes.
On the one hand, nowadays many people prefer to use apps to read e-version books because they are more convenient than paper books. Some books usually heavy and bulky, making it difficult to carry them. Therefore, people may like reading e-books as they can be opened and read easily while commuting or travelling. Additionally, e-books may help people to save money and time, offering affordability and possibility for everyone. Some people might love international bestsellers and may not have enough money to buy them or time to look for them. In such cases, they could use useful apps to read books or find their cheaper e-versions from online platforms.
However, I believe people will not change their attitude towards paper books because they are not harmful for the eyes. If people have constant reading habits, reading e-books may lead to poor vision for them. Moreover, for some people reading paper books can be more pleasant than e-books as they may flip pages and smell the scent of the books, making them more engaged and concentrated. Research shows that people who choose paper books tend to memorize the main points better than those who read the same e-version books, highlighting another benefit of paper books.
In conclusion, although e-books offer comfort and availability, paper books do not harm the eyes and help people commit the plot to memory. Therefore, I believe that people will continue to read paper books and they will not disappear in the future.
