It has been a heated topic in recent years that the human resource managers have to concentrate on the attributes of applicants rather than proficiency. Personal qualities such as humility, patience, and flexibility are important, and they are skills that require a long time to acquire them, because they are related to characteristics and behaviors that require high self-reflection. So people think hard skills can be easily acquired compared with the personality that individual have.
Employing according to the personality of individuals rely on the culture or necessity (indispensability) of the company or the organization. For example, some companies are focusing on the environment, so they need employees to have specific attributes, and professional skills are not an essential thing that they require it.
Also, some people think personal qualities, are things cannot people even practice or gain them. Some jobs, for instance, in customer service, nursing, and human resources concerned with dealing with people, actually concentrate on characteristics and attitudes. On the other hand, those jobs do not require dealing with humankind directly; they can be focused on hard and soft skills.
In conclusion, choosing candidates for a job based on personality is more important than proficiency and experience, especially for long-term contracts. This will save the organization from losing workers because of some impolite experts or managers. Which happened in many companies that lost their employees due to the toxic environment as a result of employing depends on the qualifications regardless of characteristic.
