These days, people are divided into two groups. One group thinks that schools should teach children skills, while the other group believes it’s better to have a range of subjects for children’s future. In this essay, I will discuss both sides and share my opinion with examples.
Firstly, many people believe that school education involves learning subjects like History, Biology, and Geometry. For example, many parents encourage their children to study hard because they believe this knowledge will help them get better jobs. While this is not a bad way to think, I will explain why I disagree with this idea later.
Secondly, others believe that schools should teach children skills.
Communication skills are a good example. Children need to learn how to make new friends and talk to older people. For instance, when I was in school, I got higher grades because I had good relationships with my teachers.
From my point of view, I completely disagree with the focus on subjects. You won’t use much of the knowledge from school in your real work tasks. For example, someone who studied well in school might end up working for someone who didn’t. Moreover, trying to cheat on exams or tests can actually help develop creativity.
