Band 5+: Some people think that poverty is the reason behind most crimes. Do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Certain individuals believe that poverty is the cause behind most crimes. I completely disagree with that statement because poverty can be because of the low paid job and not working honestly.

Crime is not the main cause of poverty because after crime people can earn money from his work and buy stolen things. Therefore, I think one of the main reasons for poverty is low paid jobs. Certain people have jobs that pay low salaries because of the education of people. If people do not have a high education, most of the companies pay them lower salaries. For example, my aunt has not had a high education, she can not find a job that pays an average salary, many companies offer to pay menial work and low wages, she had to do menial work.

Moreover, many people can not get high wages, because they work dishonestly. Maybe no one saw it, people who did not work honestly and fairly will be punished anyway. For example, state employee may be interested in money and try to appropriate the money given for the benefit of the people. Then the quality of the equipment needed by the people will be low, and it causes people’s discontent. After the state tracks down the worker, shows that he is corrupt, and deprives him of his freedom, thus he loses all his wealth. Just like that, many people become pover, and they blame the people and the state.

To sum up, poverty depends on the person himself, his education, and justice. Even if there is a theft, it is the person’s fault because he should have been careful.
