In recent years, there has been constant development in the field of education, observed in many parts of the world. Some people believe that schools are no longer necessary for educational purposes because of the availability of online resources. However, I strongly agree with this viewpoint. I will elaborate on my ideas in the following paragraphs with suitable and relevant examples and conclusions.
Firstly, the internet allows users to access information easily. Learners can study from anywhere in the world, such as Russia, the USA, or even India. Secondly, online learning is more affordable since students do not have to pay for school fees or materials. Lastly, self-learning offers flexibility because students can choose their own time and place for studying. For instance, not all children prefer to learn early in the morning; some might find it more comfortable to study in the evening.
On the other hand, there are those who oppose this notion, arguing that schools are still necessary for providing a structured environment for learning. In schools, students must follow rules and regulations, which help maintain discipline. For example, in private schools, the rules are so strict that students must follow them compulsorily. Besides, schools are places where students can improve and enhance their social skills, such as friendship, cooperation, and coordination. Finally, teachers are highly trained to provide the proper guidance according to students’ needs. These points demonstrate that schools are also beneficial for students.
In conclusion, although schools might seem unnecessary in modern times due to the availability of online resources, cost-effectiveness, and flexibility, in my opinion, schools remain beneficial for learners because of the structured environment, skill development, and qualified tutors they offer.
