The impacts of television on children is a controversial issue among people. There are those who posit that watching TV has more advantages for children, while other individuals, included myself, believe that it has detrimental impact on children.
To begin with first viewpoint, certain individuals maintain that watching TV has more pros for children because they can learn crucial lessons such as social skills, and about other cultures from children TV programs. The vast majority of animation in television are designed by some children experts to teach valuable lesson for children. As a result, juveniles can learn useful lesson from TV because these medium are attractive for them. One notable example of this is in my country, some TV programs such as Fitile, and Amo pourang teach valuable lesson to children. I learned some information about foreign countries’ cultures from Fitile. Thus, these entertainment is useful for children and they can learn skills and valuable thing from these programs.
On the other hand, the reason why some others and I believe that it has detrimental impacts on minors is it leads to decreasing their tendency to do outdoor activities which are crucial for children. Children’s TV programs are kind of activities that release dopamine hormone in their body easily and fast. This hormone in our body plays a crucial role in our happiness because it makes us happy. In contrast, outdoor activities such as exercising, playing games with friends release dopamine in our body in the long run. Therefore, children tend to watch TV rather than play with their peers and do outdoor activities, which has detrimental impact on their health.
In conclusion, although some people believe that watching TV has more benefits for children because they can learn social skills and about other cultures, I believe that it has more cons for children and children can learn these lessons in outdoor activities. They can reinforce their communication when they hang out with their friends and learn about other cultures by reading books.
