Band 5+: Some students take one year off between finishing high school and going to university, in order to travel or to work. Do you think the advantages of it outweigh the disadvantages?

One of the most controversial issues in modern society is taking a year off after finishing school. It is often said that a gap year is a year of explore his or her interest by traveling or working while there are some downsides of taking a gар year, i personally believe that the benefits are far more.

perhaps the main advantage of taking a year off after finishing school is explore own interests. Firstly, A gap year helps explore his or her interests, which is unknown to them. For example, students can discover a new interest which is creating a career pathway or finding moje subject which will be help him or her to university admission. Secondly, by working a specific period of time, students will gain a work experience and also save money. For example, one year Work experience not only helps him or her in future work placement but also save money, which will beneficial for paying university fees. In addition, a gap year help them for traveling new places which is a great opportunity for learning new culture and also become more mature.

Despite these arguments, there are also various disadvantages to taking a year off. one of the most obvious of these is lose of momentum of study. A majority of students lose their interests about study if it is not well planned. For intense, those students who are not use a gap year time properly, may be lose their track and will not countinue they study again. Finally, they will be lose focus on their career goals and separated to other students and involved criminal activities.

To sum up, there are some disadvantages to taking a year off but the advantages are more
