Some people believe that company should only promote the staff who worked in the company for a long time. In my opinion, how long is the staff worked in the company should not be the only consideration for promotion.
First, the major goal of company is making profit. Therefore, the promotion rule surround by what is the indicator of making profit. I think the most related indicator would be staff’s working performance because we define the performance base how much the worker could accomplish the to company’s goals.
The time staff in the company are not directly related to one’s performance, so it should be a main reason to promote someone. As a result, the one can bring more profit who should earn the reward.
Second, the promotion rule or culture will deep affect the way company development. For example, my manager are not the most senior in department but he get the promotion and he work even harder than before. I think this is a good loop.
