Band 4+: Students learn more from their school teachers than from other sources such as the internet or television. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

I personally agree with this statement. What teacher taught in school is just like 30 percent of the subject. The student have to learn more about the subject “outside” the class from other sourches. And Every student has a different method on studying. They use the listening skills on learning, or visualize skill and many more.

Not every student like to learn from reading a book or a journal reaserch. Many of them find this method “boring”. The globalisation has bring technology to make the learning system easier. Student can learn from everywhere on the internet such as movie, youtube video or even a short tiktok video. And for me its more effective because the video usually contain some attractive images or a popular music so it makes the learning process more fun and make student catch or understand the subject easier.

I experience it myself. 10 years at least Indonesian student spent on school for learning English. And right now i’m in university has A LOT of friends that still can’t talk english or even know the meaning of an english word. I think this is the effect of learning just in class. And they didn’t find the fun of learning english so they don’t want to learn more english outside the class. Meanwhile learning language need a lot of practice in every skills like reading, speaking or even listening. I have a different stage of ability in english because i find the fun of studying english and i found it outside the class. I like english when i was in highschool and watch Harry potter movies. And that movie still be my favourite until now. So i rewatch the movie a lot. Until i start to remembering the dialog and pretending that i am the actor. And unconciously my english ability has improved. and I found english is cool, fun, will bring you to a bigger opportunity in the world. So i start to moving my english learning method from the boring method like doing english task or just listening the teacher to the method that makes me enjoying english like listening to western music, watching movies and switch the subtitles to english subtitles, following the account of western news so i constantly listening to english conversation and many more. And these method are more effective for me.
