Nowadays, there is no doubt that a superb footballer, or an excellent billiards player are having lucrative income, which can be double or triple compare to professors’ in University. Hence, it has become an argument among the norm, and this essay, I will discuss both view.
On the one hand, I think “Sport” can be considered as a permanent job for some specific groups, which means earning money by doing is not different from other employment. Hence, it is understandable when a particular athlete surpasses all the challenges and reaches the goal that changes his or her life. For example, Duong Quoc Hoang is a Vietnamese Billiards player who has spent more than 10 years practicing without any financial support, then in 2020, he defeated Shan Van Boening who was the World billiards champion at that time, and now “Duong Quoc Hoang” have become one of the most searched words on social media in Viet Nam. Consequently, his life has moved into a new chapter which is full of opportunities to earn money, for example, he can earn 300$ by just smiling in front of cameras for 2 or 3 seconds.
On the other hand, there are still many people criticizing it, as they think it is unfair for them. Firstly, a vast majority of people believe that “sport” should not be count as a job, and they strongly against the athletes who have great income. From my point of view, I think this is happening because of those who think doing “sport” is a piece a cake, and they belief that they can do it better. For example, it’s typical to hear the words “Come one! Why are you playing like that?” or “You should never do it like that” while people are watching sport. And from the view of psychology, those words are concrete evidences of “jealous”, which is one of the 7 sins. Hence, it’s understandable when a huge number of people react badly against the given fact.
In conclusion, I highly respect the sport players who have reached the goal of their life, since they have quietly and patiently gone through a bunch of difficulties which can be more than my imagination.
