The methods of storing knowledge have evolved significantly over time. In the past, a wealth of information was stored in books. However, in contemporary society, people increasingly utilize the Internet as a primary method it. From my perspective, the benefits of storing knowledge on the Internet outweigh its drawbacks.
On the one hand, storing knowledge on the Internet brings about significant disadvantages.Firsly, the volume of available information can be overwhelming, making it challenging for people to distinguish reliable sources. For example, during political events or natural disasters, news can be manipulated people, leading to misleading resources about historical events.Additionally, online platforms often lack of standardised quality control on the Internet. This means that anyone has the right to freedom of speech, resulting in the spread of misinformation and low-quality content that uncensored information.
On the other hand, in spite of the disadvantages mentioned above, using the Internet to store knowledge offers significant benefits. One of the most important advantages of information is accessibility. The Internet allows a global audience to access a wealth of information from all parts of the world ,regardless of geographical barriers which superior to physical books. Take students in remote areas as an example, thanks to online resources, they are going to be conducive to independent learning and foster knowledge exploration. Furthermore, online materials are more affordable than traditional ones since e-books are often available at no cost compared to printed books, which tend to be more expensive. Most specifically, over time, physical books may become worn and lose a great deal of crucial information, but maintaining them online can help avoid this issue, as important documents and archives are protected from external factors such as moisture and insects.
In conclusion, while there are considerable concerns regarding online information, the notable benefits of storing knowledge on the Internet include accessibility and real-time updates and permanent preservation
