Opinions on whether creating a new language to communicate on a global scale is still the matter of interest. Although the majority of people may stop learning variety of languages because of having one that can be understood by many, I believe that mutual understanding between two parties in business aspects as well as easier travelling opportunities have greater positive influence to people around the world.
On the one hand, the importance of learning different languages is considered very crucial in terms of broadening one’s horizon. This is simply because individuals do not only spend a great deal of time to master the grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation of a specific language, but also through this process they can learn more about the culture, history and traditions of a specific nation. This, as a result, can help people to be culturally aware, to acknowledge their worldviews and heritage. However, the invention of a new language can easily make us stop being aware of the essence of learning different cultures and make us much lazier to involve ourselves in deeper studies. Furthermore, some languages which have few speakers may also disappear providing that people may not need their mother tongue to speak to each other when they have an international language.
I, however, believe the creation of a new international language will definitely bring ease to communicate throughout the world with clear understanding. In terms of business, for example, entrepreneurs or businessmen who are not able to speak in specific languages usually struggle whenever having important meetings to sign contracts or ask informative questions to get the full picture of the situation itself. This, as a result, may lead to misinterpretation of both involved parties despite hiring a professional translator just because of lacking linguistic knowledge. Moreover, tourists often face with some problems while travelling in historical locations whenever they want to know more about the indigenous tribes without having a tour guide or even in city centers some local residents cannot exactly understand the language being spoken by visitors. Thus, in order to ease the life, inventing a completely new language will be much more beneficial even though it may require some time for people to learn and get used to speaking in it.
In conclusion, I am fully in favor of having a language for global communication so that people will have less misunderstandings while networking through speaking.
