In recent years, the development of technology has changed many industries through automation. Some people believe that this trend will lead to high unemployment for many workers. Personally, I think that automation will replace some jobs, but it will also create new types of work for people who are ready to learn.
The main reason for widespread unemployment is that machines and robots are more efficient than humans. For example, in the car industry, robots can do the same work faster and cheaper. This means that many factory workers might lose their jobs in the future. However, we should also see the positive side. Automation needs people to design, program, and maintain the machines. So, while old jobs disappear, new ones in the IT and engineering sectors appear.
To solve the negative effects, governments should take important measures. First, they need to provide “reskilling” programs for workers who lost their jobs. This helps people to find a new place in the modern market. Also, schools should change their programs to focus on creativity and social skills, because these are things that robots cannot do. If the government supports education, the problem of unemployment will be smaller.
On the other hand, individuals must take responsibility for their own future. We should not stop learning after school. “Lifelong learning” is the best way to stay useful in the job market. If a person learns how to use new technology, they will have more chances to find a good job.
In conclusion, although automation is a big challenge for the world, it is not a disaster. If governments provide training and individuals stay flexible, we can adapt to these changes successfully.
