As we all know, education is the main priority for most of the developing and developed countries out there. Therefore, the norm is always to provide the best opportunity for children and young people to attend school and get the best education available. However, a major conflict arises when people voice the opinion that adults who cannot read and write should be the main priority for education, and therefore, the government should fund this project in order to upgrade and improve society. This essay will provide details and explanations why younger generations should be the focus of this debate and the reason I wholeheartedly agree with this notion.
The essential point to remember is that children and young adults learn, imitate, and master skills, language, and knowledge at a faster pace than adults. The ability to quickly adapt and learn any new details for any child is exceptional, as they are keen to learn new things, which makes them perfect candidates to pursue college and even higher degrees. Not only that, children are the next generation that takes up our spot as adults in the long run, so they are entitled to receive an adequate and appropriate education to be able to handle problems later on in their career. The knowledge, skills, and behavior learned from their predecessors, teachers, and parents will be displayed through their actions, which will greatly and significantly affect the situations, political matters, and society of a nation.
In comparison, illeteracy is not a common problem in many countries, as people who are unable to read and write effectively can still communicate with each other and find a suitable manual career. The only downside out there for them is that gainful employment is sometimes out of reach due to the fact that they are unable to fulfill the required task in literacy. However, if properly educated, even with simple literacy subjects or vocational ones, they can still prosper further in their career with a well-paid job. In a world where fraud and deceit are running rampant, basic education is needed for every citizen to prevent incidents from happening, including the one made to steal money from poorly educated adults.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly agree with the notion that children should be the ones to receive proper education to nurture their talent for the future of the nation. Meanwhile, older adults should also receive some basic training and lessons in life to ensure that they are capable of handling basic paper work so their lives are not in danger.
