Band 7+: The government should control the amount of violence in films and on television in order to decrease violent crimes in society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The content we see on television and in films has a significant impact on society and individual lives. Whether we are exposed to positive or negative content, we feel the effects accordingly. Therefore, I support the idea that the government should regulate the amount of violence depicted in films and on television. I will elaborate on this view for two main reasons in this essay.

First and foremost, there are various types of television shows and movies created for our entertainment during our leisure time. To foster harmony in society and in our lives, we should promote content that is fun and enriched with positive themes rather than violence. For instance, many children watch television with their families. If they are exposed to good, uplifting content, it can leave a positive impression on their young minds.

Additionally, I have observed that many people learn valuable lessons from films. Motivational and inspiring movies encourage us to become more diligent in our lives. My personal experience serves as a compelling example: during my college years, I aspired to become an accomplished dancer in my group dance classes. Movies played a crucial role in helping me learn new dance steps each day. I would often learn various steps from films and then teach them to my group members. As a result, our group won first place in the annual university dance competition, outperforming other groups.

In conclusion, the content we consume undoubtedly impacts us. Hence, the government should take steps to control the amount of violence in films and television programs. By promoting positive content, we can cultivate a more optimistic and happy society.
