The statement is pointing out an interesting topic. Personalized medicine that included the genetic of individuals can cause an enormous impact in the sociaty. In my opinion, this situation is going to be beneficial for the individuals. However, there will be negative aspect that we need to consider.
From my perspective, the main advantage is that people will be less sick and they will be able to adquired the correct medicine that match with their own genetic for that specific dissess. Therefore, individuals will live longer than the current expectation. This will provided them with more time to enjoy with their family.
I believe that this new treatement will cost millions of dollars, and it is not going to be an experience that everyone can afford. Unfortunately, many people won’t be able to use this new medicine. For instance, it is going to create a sociaty with an extremly inequality in terms of sickness and healthieness.
The huge impact that I can see in the heathcare system is that people will stop visiting their doctors and nurses, and as a consequence, the government will reduce the spot of healthcare professionals , this situation will lead to reduce the amount of job for them. This is not a minor perspective, worldwide we already experienced a lack of professionals in hospitals, even though with this new treatement people will need less doctors, reduce their jobs can create another problem for the sociaty and population.
In conclusion, we never know how people can react or respond to the new medicine, and for this reason health professionals should not be discard under any circunstances. Medicine is a mystery that no one should give for granted.
