The given maps illustrate the transformation which took place in Felixstone between 1967 and 2001.
It is obvious that the area witnessed dramatic changes over that period with more facilities and infrastructure.
In 1967, there was a large farmland located behind the shops to the east of High street.By 2001, this area was replaced by an entertainment complex which consists of a hotel, a swimming pool and two tennis courts. In addition, the golf course and shops still existed in the northwest.
On the southeast of the road, the marina and the pier were removed along with the fish market to leave space for a new public beach area.Moving into the middle of the south, the old hotel was demolished and replaced by a new hotel and a car park, while the cafe relocated above the public beach. To the west, the dunes were removed to build three new turbines.
