The increase of urban area has resulted in deforestation which led to varieties of animal species becoming endangered. Some of the benefits of protecting animals are increasing ecosystem and balance the food chain. These benefits can be achieved by government by making law.
One of the benefits of protecting animals are the increase diversity in ecosystem. This is because when the number of the animal species increase, the number of animals in that area will also increase. This can increase the diversity of ecosystem. One example is the bees in Kangaroo Island. Most of the bees were killed by the fire, however, the ecosystem in plant has recovered quickly. This is because the local bee farmers have saved some of the bees and these saved bees have help recover it.
Another benefit is the balance of food chain. This is because it helps maintain of the recycle of biomass. A classic example is when an animal dies, the body decompose and become nutrient for other plant which help balance the food chain.
Moreover, government can also help protecting endangered animals by the make new law. Making new law can play a crucial role in protecting endangered animal species due to the consequences after breaking it. An example is prohibiting hunting shark fins. Hunter will cut the fin from the shark and release them back to the ocean. Although it seems like it doesn’t kill the shark, it does kill it due to the fin is responsible for control the speed.
To summarise, protecting endangered animal has benefits such as increase diversity in ecosystem and balance food chain. Moreover, government can also make law to protect these animals.
