The pie charts illustrate how a UK school spent money in 30 years for school needing.
Overall, there were some significant changes in the dividing of the school budget over these years. Teachers’ salaries remained the biggest expense, while spending on furniture and insurance increased over time. However, resources and other workers’ salaries saw a decline.
In 1981, the largest part of the budget 40% was spent on teachers’ salaries and was followed by other workers’ salaries, which shows 28%. Resources and furniture both took 15%, while only 2% was spent on insurance. By 1991, teachers’ salaries increased to 50% and made it the biggest category. Other workers’ salaries decreased to 22%, and the school spent more on resources than 10 years before spending 20%, while furniture spending dropped to just 5% and insurance slightly increased to 3%.
In 2001, teachers’ salaries remained high at 45%, but spending on furniture rose significantly to 23%. Insurance also grew to 8%, while money spent on resources dropped to only 9%. Other workers’ salaries kept decreasing and reached 15%.
