Honestly, until writing this essay, I had no idea. It’s so hard to find a single term that describes who I am completely, to find out what truly matters to me and what word best defines my personality. But after considering it, I think the one word that best describes who I am is authentic.
For me, being authentic means staying true to who I am, no matter what; it’s about embracing entirely who I am—my strengths, flaws, thoughts, and the emotions that make me an individual human.Authenticity allows me to live with purpose and intention, reminding me that life’s greatest fulfilment comes not from seeking approval but from living truthfully in every moment.
I don’t pretend to be someone I’m not, even if it feels tempting to fit in or avoid judgment. Instead, I accept my thoughts, emotions, and imperfections as they are. For example, when I’m with my friends or family, I’m always myself—sharing my dreams, admitting when I’m wrong, and expressing how I feel.
Being authentic also means embracing my individuality. I don’t feel the need to compare myself to others or follow trends blindly. I value my own journey and focus on what feels right for me, whether it’s pursuing my passions or staying true to my principles.
Of course, I’m still growing and learning, but I know that being authentic makes me who I am. It’s a quality I hold close, and I hope it will inspire others to be the way they are.
