In the era of globalization, the music industry plays an important role in people’s lives. Some people believe that music can be a way to release stress, while others think that it can be an effective method to get people from various traditions closer together. This essay will discuss both views before offering a personal perspective.
Music is an effective tool to reduce stress and depression of people not only by its lyrics, but also by its medolies. Studies show that music can reduce the cortisol, which is a hormon causing stress in human being. Besides, listening to music can slow down the blood circulation and calm the nerves. For instance, a number of people who are just coming out of their relationships are likely to be stressful, or even depressed. They tend to listen to more favourite songs to ease their pain and heal their soul. Those find themselves resonated with meaningful lyrics and words in love songs. Even without lyrics, music with soft and peaceful melodies or slow-picht can help people over come the tense of nerves. For example, in the hospitals and medical centres, during the MRI or CT scanning, patients are allowed to listen to music while they are under the scanning equipment. This therapy can facilitate the testing procedure by helping these patients feel calm and peaceful when performing the tests. In addition, there are a number of studies showing that patients who are frequently listening to music with soft melodies can perform very quick recovery from their treatment.
Moreoever, music can be a bridge which connects people in different cultures and get them close together. This happens when people from all around the world can share the same idols in music. For example, even Vietnamese people or American people, who do not understand the Korean, all idolize the Korean BTS musical band and follow their performances all around the world. Of course, with the technological development, lyrics can be translated into all languages worldwide; however, the beats and melodies are the way that connect people in different cultures together. Additionally, in many live performances of well-known singer, such as Adele, or Celine Dion, the viewers can come from numerous countries; however, they can all share the same energy and vibe while listening to the singer performing their songs.
Personally, I strongly believe that musical therapy can release people’s stress and depression, as well as bonding people from around the world by the energy, the vibe, and the meaning behind the words.
In conclusion, music has become a crucial part in human’s lives, which can release tense from daily life, and connect people worldwide together. In the era of rapid development of entertainment, music can hold a strong position in this chaotic world and make it a better place to live.
