In recent years, the number of large shopping malls are significantlly increases, while small shops replace. In this essay I will reveal these advantages and disadvantages and give my personal point of view, providing relevant examples.
On the one hand, what makes tendency to replace tiny shops with shopping malls considerably convenient is the possibility for consumers to purchase everything in one place. Scarcely could this is accomplished in small local shop, as such businesses provide a narrow range of products to choose. For instance a family can obtain food, clothes and household appliances in a single shopping mall, saving both time and transportation costs, while small stores are too specialized in one specific variety of products.
On the other hand, local shops are considered to be second to none in the field of quality, as such businesses occasionally pass down from generation to generation, using family traditions in manufacturing. Moreover, maintaining such stores helps ordinary people to stay afloat, while purchasing goods in chain shops only provides more money for multi-billion dollar companies. For example, when people buy vegetables from nearby family stores, they often receive better quality products without pesticides and at the same time help local farmers earn a stable income.
In conclusion, tendency when large shopping malls grasp local shops has a positive development since it impacts greatly the lives of common people. However, I believe that replacement can play a bad joke on society in the long run, as it may lead to the disappearance of local businesses and reduce product quality.
