Being at work is taking up most of our times, that’s why it’s a constant debate whether a person should look for a steady job or a job that’s making him content. This essay will discuss both sides of the argument, and making an opinion on why job satisfaction is more important.
From a father-of-3-kids point ov view a permanent position probably seems convincing. A steady income means having food to be put on the table every day, without having to worry about it. It also gives an opportunity for the family to plan ahead, and make smart and informed decisions about the spending. In general, a steady job means steady income, that equals no financial anxiety,
Although, having no anxiety sound amazing, there’s not only finances that a person can be nervous about. Having a steady job only means it can be counted on, but it’s not necessarily making an employee happy or content. Psychological wellbeing is just as much as important as financial wellbeing, or maybe even more important. An employee who feels content at his workplace will perform better, reach more goals and will be motivated to even set goals for himself. Adding the fact, that a satisfied person will be a better part of society as well, because he will not go looking for trouble.
In conclusion, I believe both parts are really important in our lives, and they cannot exist without each other, I still believe that job staisfaction plays a more crucial role on the way of being happy. Of course without the sufficient funds, it’s difficult to search job satisfaction, but when it’s provided, a person should look deeper into his mental wellbeing.
