It is often argued that nowadays young adults are less interested in politics than previous generations. I strongly agree with the this view because modern generations tends to focus more on personal growth and entertainment, while also feeling disconnected from political system.
Firstly, one major reason why young adults are less interested in politics is their increasing focus on entertainment and social media. Nowadays, many young individuals spend a significant amount of time on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, which reduces their exposure to political discussions. For example, instead of news and debates, they prefer to spend time in playing games, as a result they become less interested in politics.
However, it is important to note that not all young individuals are disinterested in politics. In fact, there are many young people are actively engager in politics through online platforms and social movements. For instance, social media has enable young individuals to participate in debates, express their opinion and rise awareness about important issues. Although, overall interest seems lower, there is a still less individuals are taking part in politics.
In conclusion, although some young individuals engage with politics in new ways, I believe that the majority show less interest compared to previous generations mainly because of shifting lifestyles and reduced political engagement.
