Two bar charts illustrate the average minutes per day that five age groups in New Zealand use up for two kinds of hobbies, reading and listening to music.
Overall, it can be seen that the older New Zealanders are, the longer they spend on reading. The time for listening to music among youngsters and older people accounts for the highest number, while the opposite is true in the case of the middle age groups
According to the first chart, while young people read books for a short time per day, only 20 minutes, it witnessed more than half an hour of reading time among the 25 to 32 age groups. Moreover, the amount of reading time is slightly increasing to 45 minutes long in middle-aged people and exactly 50 minutes among older people. Lastly, it experienced an hour and 10 minutes in the oldest group spent on reading habits.
Moving to the second chart, although teenagers spend a little time reading, this time in listening stands at 80 minutes, the highest number in all age groups. Following the oldest, there are 75 minutes for listening in this group. Additionally, the 25 to 32 group uses up to an hour for listening to music. Lastly, there is a 45-minute and 50-minute duration for listening to music in middle-aged groups and 43 to 55 groups, respectively.
